Day 1 - 90 Day Transformation Challenge

I hope that keeping a journal through this blog will help me achieve my transformation goals.  I started the 90 Day Challenge with Lifetime.  I am heavier than I was last year and that makes me incredibly sad.  I put on the majority of my weight last October through January.  Grad school and life keeps me stressed out and I usually turn to TV and horrible food to de-stress.  I want to make a REAL lifestyle change.




Initial Weigh-In: 142.9 pounds, 39.1% body fat

I started out the day sleeping in.  Coffee for breakfast.  Jacob and I headed to the gym.  He lifted weights while I stood in line for the weigh-in.  It was quite an emotional event.  I was standing in line to last year's winner.  She looked amazing and gave great advice.  She inspired me!  I spoke with Linda and was convinced that I needed to join TeamFitness.  It was a hard decision but I made the commitment.  I am scheduled for metabolic testing tomorrow so I couldn't get in a hard workout.

Jacob and I jogged home together.  He was so sweet to come back and check on me.  He kept me company on the 1.92 trek back home.  It took me 25 minutes, but it was a beautiful day!  I am so happy that Jacob wanted to join the gym.  He is such a good workout partner!  We shared a blender full of protein smoothie and then Jeana and I went out for haircuts and errands.  We picked Jacob up a carrot cake for his 16th birthday.  We celebrated outside and I tried to recreate his 1st birthday picture.




Didn't think of doing it till after we cut into the cake.  We gave him a few little presents.  He mainly just wanted CA$H and gym membership.  He did NOT want a party and I respected his wishes.  I did promise a party next year whether he likes it or not.  We are taking him out to dinner tomorrow.

Tonight, Jacob and Jeana are going to the Comic Con Sadie Hawkins dance.  I hope they have fun!!! They sure are looking good!  



My Food:  (no pic) Protein smoothie: 2 scoops chocolate plant protein, banana, 2 tbs organic peanut butter & coffee.  Shared with Jacob.

 Quinoa, black beans, egg, 1/2 avocado, feta cheese

chicken legs & broccoli.  I didn't eat the rice, it was yucky!
